Rachel Mostek – Violin/Viola/Piano

Rachel Mostek began her musical studies at age 5, taking private piano lessons. At age 9, she took up the violin as her main focus. In addition, she gladly picked up the viola during her undergraduate career. Now as a violinist and violist performance major, Ms. Mostek has recently received her bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. There, she studied under the rigorous instruction of well-known musicians, including Igor Fedotov (viola), Renata Artman-Knific (violin, The Merling Trio), and Dmitri Pogorelov (violin, Kontras Quartet). During her undergraduate career, she actively participated in master classes, chamber group performances, solo recitals, and concerto competitions. This year, she was a finalist for the Western Michigan University Concerto Competition. Outside of the university, she has had the privilege to perform with the Battle Creek Symphony, the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Kalamazoo Symphony Musicians’ summer concerts. She has also performed internationally at the Orfeo Summer Music Festival in Vipiteno, Italy.
