Programs

AMI offers lessons and programs for all types of instruments, group classes, and ensembles. We offer piano lessons, violin lessons, guitar lessons, voice lessons and music lessons in all symphonic wind, brass, and string instruments. Check out the AMI Faculty.

Conservatory Program

This program for students ages 7-18 is held on Saturdays at AMI’s Clarendon Hills campus from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Our conservatory program will help serious young musicians develop their skills for college or a music career. The program includes group instruction, chamber playing, music theory/history, and performance class.

Mini-Campus Program

As music educators, we are concerned about the decline in funding for music education in our public schools over the last decade. Just as researchers have been finding that studying music helps K-12 students with reading, math, language acquisition and problem-solving skills, the difficult climate of school funding has made music education opportunities scarce in our schools. As the public purse continues to shrink, schools need to offer solid educational opportunities with fewer resources. We believe that the AMI Mini Campus is part of the solution. Through this program, we can bring music lessons and music education into schools throughout the Chicago area.

AMI Summer Music Camp

AMI Summer Music Camp is a day camp coming up again in July 2016. The camp runs from Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., with aftercare available from 3 – 5:30 p.m. The camp is held at American Music Institute’s Clarendon Hills Campus, located 20 minutes west of downtown Chicago. The camp is open to all instruments and levels of students, ages 5 – 18 years old. We had a great camp in 2016 with more than 50 students!

Beginner Camp is designed for students ages 5 – 18yrs old that have no music training.

Little Mozart Camp is designed for students ages 5 -12yrs old.

Young Artist Camp is designed for 13 – 18yrs old.

Every day consists of 5 instructional & academic classes, a lunch period and a performance class where students listen to faculty and fellow students perform.
