American Music Institute was founded in 2006 with the mission of providing the Chicago-land area the highest music education possible for all instruments, ages, levels and styles of music. Job Responsibilities

  • Part-time Position
  • Admin duties – 4-20hrs per week
  • Teaching – 4-12hrs per week
  • Participate in the observation and evaluation of faculty
  • Help with artistic decisions as they relate to performances, programing, curriculum, etc
  • Teaching high-quality instruction to beginning through advanced students in the following programs at AMI, College Faculty Program, Mini Campus, Camp, & AYSO 
  • Partner with other Chairs and/or Directors for other Programs
  • Timely and professional correspondence with Program Managers, managing directors, and partnering administrators
  • Collaborate with parents, staff and teachers
  • Participate in the hiring of faculty
  • Serve as an ambassador for AMI and aid in student recruitment
  • Work to facilitate programs through AMI’s Mini Campus Program and AYSO Clinics & Masterclasses
  • Public & private school visits – schedule & perform clinics, network with music teachers & other influencers
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • College level teaching experience
  • Performance experience at high level
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Collaborative and be able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to build strong rapport with faculty, administrating, students and parents
  • Experience in recruitment, retention, marketing, networking, management, hiring, and social media
  • Highly motivated

Education Required

  • Master of Music or DMA
