Aaron Burns – Brass – Sax – Piano
Aaron Burns received his master’s degree in jazz trumpet performance from DePaul University, where he studied with Chad McCullough, Bob Lark, Thomas Matta, Dennis Carroll, and Dana Hall. He has performed as a soloist, with jazz big bands, jazz small groups, and with the Chicago Samba group. Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, he grew up in a very musical family. He received his bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of North Texas. While there he performed with concert bands, brass brands, and jazz big bands – one of which included Norah Jones. Aaron went on to work in another field while living in Dallas, TX and Minneapolis, MN but continued to perform in a variety of musical settings as a soloist, concert bands, brass quintets, jazz small groups and big bands.
Aaron’s personal experience has taught him that the impact quality instruction from a dedicated teacher can make all the difference. No matter their skill level, he strives to meet every student where they’re at to help them improve.
