Emma Iacovella (Voice/Brass/Piano) receievd her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance (along with Music Education courses) at Kansas State University, where she studied under Dr. Patricia Thompson. Despite focusing her degree on Voice, she continued to play the Trumpet and French Horn in various bands.

Ms Iacovella specializes in opera and art song; however, she is versatile and also performs in pop, musical theatre, jazz, and R&B styles. Emma has performed at Victor Herbert’s Centenary Concert with the Great Lakes Operetta Company. As an educator, Emma’s teaching philosophy rests upon the belief that education goes far beyond imparting knowledge and facts.  She believes in differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of her students and promote inclusive learning.

Ms Iacovella teaching style focuses on tailoring pieces, lessons, and assignments to her students’ interests and abilities, and she concentrates on invoking a sense of ownership and pride in their learning. She strongly believes in the power of hands-on and experiential learning, and works to make the learning experience relevant and meaningful. Emma motivates her students to actively engage with the subject matter, making connections to their own lives and the world around them. This enhances their understanding, retention, and ability to apply knowledge in practical situations. In addition to academic growth, Emma is dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of her students. She focuses on instilling a growth mindset, promoting resilience, perseverance, and a belief in their full potential.
