Rebekah Dotzel – Cello & Bass

Rebekah Dotzel is a dedicated teacher and performer in the Chicago area. She began her musical studies at an early age, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Iowa and her Master of Music degree at the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. An avid chamber musician, Rebekah has performed in various quartets and trios across the U.S. and Europe with festivals such as Bowdoin International Festival and Interharmony International Music Festival. Currently, Rebekah is involved in various Chicago based orchestras and chamber ensembles.

Since her first years at the University of Iowa, Rebekah has enjoyed teaching students of all ages privately and in groups. She has also had extensive experience teaching with El Sistema nucleos and orchestras in Boston and Chicago. Having earned a Teaching Artist certification at her time at Longy, Rebekah has a developed a driving passion for connecting to audiences and students while encouraging playful exploration of music.
