Michael Zahlit – Violin/Viola
Michael Zahlit holds a BM in Viola Performance from University of Texas at Austin where he studied under renowned violist and teacher Roger Myers, as a recipient of the Butler Excellence Scholarship Michael. Mr. Zahlit has performed in both solo, recital, orchestral, and chamber playing. As an orchestral player, he has been principal violist of the Eastern Symphony Festival Orchestra, Interlochen Philharmonic, and a member of the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra and Opera Orchestra. Michael has appeared internationally in several premier music festivals, as both recitalist and orchestral member, including the Aspen Music festival, Montecito Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, and the Hadyn Music Festival held in Vienna, Austria. Additionally, he has participated in masterclasses from esteemed faculty including Robert Vernon, Don McInnes, Paul Coletti, Lawrence Dutton (Emerson String Quartet), Joseph Silverstein, and Sylvia Rosenberg. Currently he is pursuing a Master’s degree in music performance from DePaul University under Rami Solomonov.
