James Jewson – Brass / Winds / Piano

James Jewson holds his Master’s Degree in Orchestral Trumpet Performance from the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. Mr. Jewson has studied trumpet under Channing Philbrick, Robert Dorer, J. Thomas Seddon IV, and Marty Robinson.

Mr. Jewson teaches all brass and winds, including piano. He has previously served as the beginner brass teacher in Onalaska, Wisconsin.

Jewson served as principal trumpet for UW- La Crosse’s Wind Ensemble, Orchestra and University Brass Quintet from 2012 to 2015. He has also spent time conducting the university’s Orchestra briefly in 2016. Since coming to Chicago, Jewson has performed with various ensembles, including the Lake Shore Symphony, and the North Shore Chamber Orchestra.
